Modernization of a Youth Center
The multi-wing building complex, constructed in the 1960s, has served for decades as an important hub and meeting place for youth work within the district. With the exception of a few sections, the building envelope remains largely in its original condition and now shows signs of age-related deterioration. To ensure the continued successful use of the youth center in the future, the building is undergoing a comprehensive modernization of its exterior envelope and is being refurbished in accordance with the latest standards. Particular challenges arise in the area of building component connections due to various material transitions and the distinctive architecture featuring numerous offsets and overlapping structural volumes. The selected construction materials are intended to create a contemporary exterior appearance while at the same time preserving the original character of the individual building sections.
