Facade modernization single-family house

After the roof and windows of the detached house in Hamburg-Bergedorf, which was built around 1962, have already been brought up to date, the uninsulated exterior walls are now to be modernized in terms of energy efficiency. The building is characterized by its open design with a full storey under a flat pitched roof, which is framed by side wall panels. The facade modernization is planned as a mineral thermal insulation composite system (ETICS). This will be supplemented by a cladding of light-colored clinker brick slips, not only to achieve considerable energy savings, but also to restore the original character of the building after the original clinker brick façade has been painted white. In addition, as with the existing building, the façades will be given a meaningful design structure with partial areas of rear-ventilated timber cladding. The building will also be made fit for the coming decades by replacing the old gas heating system with a geothermal system.
